Now we have an equation completely in terms of R, so we can work out R. Multiplying by 6 to eliminate fractions (makes it nicer to work with) gives us:

Rearranging to get all the R's on one side makes it:

Divide by 5:

Since D = R/2, and R = 42:

Since T = R/3, and R = 42:

So the final results are:
The Reds scored 42, the Yankees scored 35, the Dodgers scored 21 and the Tigers scored 14.
