The sum of two consecutive integers can't be -76 because if you have two consecutive integers one must be even and the other must be odd, and when you add an even and an odd number you get an odd answer. -76 isn't odd.
When we try to solve this problem, we'd write the first integer as x, and the second as x+1, their sum then is x+x+1, when we set that equal to -76 we get:



-77/2 isn't an integer, so your problem has no answer.
