Question 26837: suppose one number is 9 more than the other. If the difference between 3times the larger and 5times the smaller is3, what are the two numbers?
Answer by elima(1433) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=smaller number;
x+9=larger number;
3(x+9)-5x=3
3x+27-5x=3
-2x=-24
x=12
so if the smaller number is 15, then the larger is;
15+9=24
Hope you understand
