Let m = the multiplier
then the 3 numbers: 2m, 3m, 4m
:
Find m using the 1st number
2m = 6x - 8
m =
m = (3x-4) is the multiplier
:
Find the 2nd number
3m = 3(3x-4) = 9x - 12
:
Find the 3rd number
4m = 4(3x-4) = 12x - 16
:
Add the the three numbers
(6x-8) + (9x-12) + (12x-16) = (27x - 36) is the sum
