Let X = first even integer and X+2 = second even integer
(X+2) = 2X - 10
subtract X from both sides to get
2 = X - 10
add 10 to get
12 = X.
Your two numbers are 12 and 14.

The greater of two consecutive even integers is ten less than twice the smaller. Find the integers.
Let x be the smaller of the two integers. Then the next even integer is x+2.
We are told that:
x+2 = 2*x - 10
Solve for x. The larger integer will then be x+2.
