2n+2=89*2
divide both sides by 2
n+1=89
n=88
n+2=90

(2x+2)/2=89
2x+2=2*89
2x+2=178
2x=178-2
2x=176
x=176/2
x=88 is the first consecutive even number.
88+2=90 is the second consecutive number.
