Question 231442: divide 90 into 9 parts such that each digit is odd digit
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This cannot be the product of two numbers equalling 90, since one of the numbers must be even. I conclude that it must be a sum of numbers equal to 90.
If it had been 2 parts, then you could say 37 + 53, where all the digits are odd numbers. How about 33+57? There are probably several solutions.
Now, if you want 9 parts, this is an ODD number of ODD numbers. I believe if you ADD an ODD number of ODD numbers, you get an ODD number. I can't think of a way to do this.
My answer is NO SOLUTION, although maybe I just haven't thought of it yet. If you want to re-post the problem for another opinion, I promise not to jump in and answer it!!
