The first day of the year 2009 was Tuesday and there are 365 days in this year,what will be the day of the week when 2010 begins?

Since the quotient is 52 and the remainder is 1 
when 365 is divided by 7, January 1, 2010 will be 
exactly 52 weeks and 1 day 
from Tuesday, January 1, 2009, and will therefore
be on Wednesday.

[Another way to state this is that 
365 mod 7 = 1, and Wednesday is 1 day after Tuesday,
in case you are studying modular or "clock" arithmetic.]
