Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=y-8
x+y=100
(y-8)+y=100
2100=8
2y=108
y=108/2
y=54 ans for the larger number.
54-8=46 ans. for the smaller number.
Proof:
54+46=100
100=100
