Step 1. Complementary angles is when two angles add up to 90 degrees.
Step 2. Let x be the angle and 2x be the twice the angle.
Step 3. Let 90-x its complementary angle.
Step 4. 90-x = 2x-16 since the complement of an angle is 16 degrees less than double the other angle.
Step 5. Solving yields the following steps:
Add x+16 to both sides of the equation.
Divide 3 to both sides of the equation
and
Check if complement is 16 less than twice the angle...54.67=35.33*2=16... which is a true statement.
Step 6. ANSWER: The angles are 35.33 and 54.67.
