Let y = 10's digit
Let z = units (last digit

Write an equation for each statement:

z = 3x
For z to be a single digit, x can only be 1, 2, or 3
:
"its first digit is two times its second digit."
x = 2y
x has to be an even number if y is multiplied by 2

That leaves x=2
then
y = 1
and
