.03*50=.05(50-x)
1.5=2.5-.05x
-.05x=1.5-2.5
-.05x=-1
x=-1/-.05
x=20 lbs of water is evaporated to get the 5% mixture.
Proof:
.03*50=.05(50-20)
1.5=.05*30
1.5=1.5
