Answer by checkley71(8403)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
X=2Y-3 THIS SAYS THAT X IS 3 LESS THAN TWICE Y.
X+Y=330
(2Y-3)+Y=330
2Y-3+Y=330
3Y=330+3
3Y=333
Y=333/3
Y=111 ANSWER FOR THE SMALLER NUMBER.
X=2*111-3
X=222-3
X=219 ANSWER.
PROOF
111+219=330
330=330
