let s = speed of the slower plane (westbound)
then
s+30 = speed of the faster plane (eastbound)

4 hrs is the travel time of the slower plane
2 hrs is the time of the faster plane (two hours later)

total dist that both planes traveled is 600 mi
A dist equation
4s + 2(s+30) = 600
4s + 2s + 60 = 600
6s = 600 - 60
6s = 540
s = 540/6
s = 90 mph speed of the slower westbound plane
then
90 + 30 = 120 mph is the speed of the faster eastbound plane
