Find three consecutive even integers
x, (x+2), (x+4)
Such that if the largest integer is subtracted from four times the smallest, the result is 6 more than twice the middle integer.
4x - (x+4) = 2(x+2) + 6
4x - x - 4 = 2x + 4 + 6
4x - x - 2x = 4 + 6 + 4
x = 14
The integers, 14, 16, 18
:
Check in the given statement
4(14) - 18 = 2(16) + 6
56 - 18 = 32 + 6
38 = 38
