Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=the smaller number
x+2=larger
-4(x)+(x+2)^2=36
-4x+x^2+4x+4=36
x^2=32
x=4 sqrt (2)
x+2=4 sqrt(2)+2
-16 sqrt(2)+32+16 sqrt(2)+4=36
36=36
the numbers are 4 sqrt(2)+2 and 4 sqrt (2)
