Question 1074654: Please help me solve this word problem. The sum of four consecutive even integers is ten more than the sum of the smallest two integers. Find the integers.

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the integers are x, x+2, x+4, and x+6, and they add to 4x+12
it is ten more than 2x+2
therefore 4x+12-10=2x+2
4x+2=2x+2
x=0
the integers are 0,2,4,6
They add to 12.
That is 10 more than the sum of 0 and 2.
