A number is six times another number and their
difference is 140. Find the numbers.

Another number = x
A number = 6x

6x-x = 140
  5x = 140
   =
   x = 28

Another number = x = 28
A number = 6x  = 6(28) = 168

Checking:

168-28 = 140.
