Answer by jorel555(1290)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let a be each adult admission, and y be each child. Then:
a+y=101
7a+4y=491;
4a+4y=404
3a=87
a=29
y=72
There were 29 adult admissions; and 72 child's. ☺☺☺☺
Addendum: If a+y=101, multiplying the whole equation by 4, we get 4a+4y=404!!!!☺☺☺☺
