Question 52232: Adult tickets for a play cost $5 and children tickest cost $2 for 1person. 460 tickets were sold. Recipts for person were $1880. Find the # of adult tcikets sold. You must use the chart.(first colmn in chart is type, than cost,and lastly value) the answer is 320. But I dont know what they plugged into the chart to get this answer. I have the types as Adult, children, and mixture. Cost as 5,2,and 7. And the value as 5x, 2(460-%x) and (460)7. What am I doing wrong?

Question 25920: Here is the question. I know that there is a way to set these up, and the instructor said I would start to see a pattern, but she does not explain clearly how to do these. I am confused.
60 fluid ounces of a 15% muriatic acid solution is needed to kill algae in a pool. If the technician has a 5% solution and a pure solution on hand, how many ounces of each must be combined to create the 15% solution?
I tried to set it up like this:
.05X+.10(.15-X)=24(.15)
I am getting my numbers put in the wrong place. Please help me.

I tried: $16(n)+ $3(7 - n) = $12(7) and got n = 4 and 9/13 lb. so
f = 2 and 4/13 lb. Is this right?
