A rectangular swimming pool is surrounded by a concrete border. The swimming pool is 50 meters long and,25 meters wide,and the concrete border is 3 meters all around the pool.
A. Find the perimeter
I did this by adding all 4 sides
50+ 25+50+ 25= 150 meters.
I get lost with the next two questions:
b. Find the perimeter of the rectangle formed by the border around the pool
Will I add all sides by 3
c. Find the area of the concrete border.
do I multiply 3 * 4?

Question 42269: How many Liters of a 60% acid solution must be mixed with a 75% acic solution to get 20 Liters of a 72% solution?
Here is what I have tried. But it does not make sense.
x=60% y=75%
x+y=20L
60%x+75%y=72%
I then tried to solve for x and y and the answers were x=19.04 y=.96 I do not know what units.
I use to be good at stuff like this, but I have not done it since a year ago. Please help me.
