Question 966149: I pour some milk from a full 2L jug. How many mL of milk are left in the jug
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the answer depends very much on how much you poured out of the jug.
a full 2 liter jug has 2000 milli-liters because 1 liter is equal to 1000 milli-liter.
a standard cup has 8 ounces.
there are 29.5735 milli-liters for every ounce.
a standard cup therefore holds 8 * 29.5735 = 236.588 milli-liters.
take 2000 milli-liters that is contained in a full jug and subtract 236.588 milli-liters that is contained in a full cup and you get 1763.412 milli-liters left in the jug.
since there are 1000 milli-liters for every liter, 1763.412 milli-liters left in the jug is equivalent to 1.763412 liters left in the jug.
