L=1.60, dollars per ounce
H=2.40, dollars per ounce
M=8 ounces
T=1.90 dollars per ounce
This choice is arbitrary, but
-
M-v, how many ounces of the $2.40 per ounce cologne to use.
-
The only true unknown variable is v.

Solve for v.

Let amount of Skin Soother cologne to mix, be S
Then amount of Cool Sport to mix = 8 - S
Total cost of mixture: 8(1.9), or $15.20
We then get: 2.4S + 1.6(8 - S) = 15.2
2.4S + 12.8 - 1.6S = 15.2
2.4S - 1.6S = 15.2 - 12.8
.8S = 2.4
S, or amount of Skin Soother cologne to mix = , or oz
Amount of Cool Sport to mix = 8 - 3, or oz
