Question 93501: Could someone please help me try and figure this problem out. I have such a hard time with this. How many ounces of pure water must be added to 80oz of a 35% salt solution to make a 14% salt solution. I am not sure on even how to set this up. Thanks
Answer by checkley75(3666) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
80*.35=.14(80+X)
28=11.2+.14X
.14X=28-11.2
.14X=16.8
X=16.8/.14
X=120 OZ OF PURE WATER IS REQUIRED.
PROOF
80*.35=.14*200
28=28
