1L of a 36% saline solution was mixed with 3L of a 20% saline solution.
What is the concentration of the mixture.
:
let x = the decimal equiv of the per cent salt in the final mixture (4 liters)
.36(1) + .20(3) = 4x
.36 + .60 = 4x
.96 = 4x
x = .96/4
x = .24 which is a 24% concentration in the final mixture
