0.2*a+0.7*b=0.5*10
a=10-b
0.2*(10-b)+0.7*b=5
2-0.2b+0.7*b=5
0.5*b=3
b=6
a=10-b
a=4 b=6

then
10-x = amount (liters) of 20%
.
.70x + .20(10-x) = .50(10)
.70x + 2-.20x = 5
.50x + 2 = 5
.50x = 3
