Total gallons of solution = 77
% of salt = = 28.49 gallons of salt solution
% of water = = 48.51 gallons of water
To find how much of water to be added to make this solution as 30% salt solution
Let x be the no: of gallons of water to be added
30% of salt solution
no: of gallons of salt = 30/100(77+x)

solving the above we get
x = 17.96 gallons
17.96 gallons of water need to be added to make this a 30% salt solution
