How much of 4% acid must be added to 10%acid to get 50ml of 8% acid?
-----------------
Equation:
acid + acid = acid
0.04x + 0.10(50-x) = 0.08*50
---------------------------
4x + 10*50 - 10x = 8*50
-6x = -2*50
x = (1/3)50 = 16 2/3 ml (amt. of 4% solution needed)
50-x = 33 1/3 ml (amt of 10% solution needed)
