Question 870808: A food company reduced the amount of salt in one of their food products from 700 mg to 630 mg. what is the percent decrease in the amount of salt in this food product?
Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
630 = 700 * (100-x) <<--we'll just use x and then work the percentage later.
630 = 700x
Divide each side by 700
90 = x
The new value is 90% of the previous one. Therefore, they decreased it by (100-90), or 10%.
