Even though you are very rude, I will do the whole problem for you.
There are at least 4 ways to do this.
Start 50 mL of dextrose already added
from the view point of dextrose
1000m=1L,
50m+1.8L=1.85L,
50/1850=.02703
50/1850*(1850)+y=.1(1850+y)
y=150 mL
from the view point of non dextrose fluid
.90(1850+y)=1800/1850*(1850)
y=150 mL
or
start with 1.8 L
from view point of fluid
1*1800=.9*(1800+x)
x=200
Nurse Levin has already added 50
200-50=150
from viewpoint of dextrose
x=.10(1800+x)
x = 200
200-50=150 more

Nurse Levin added 50mL of dextrose to 1.8 liters of intravenous fluid but the doctor said a 10% concentration of dextrose is needed. Find the amount of dextrose that the nurse should add.
The answer listed is 150mL but I cant figure out how they got it.

1.8 L = 1,800 mL
Let additional amount of dextrose needed be D
Total amount of dextrose = 10% of ENTIRE MIXTURE (equation thus formed)
Then: 50 + D = .1(50 + 1,800 + D)
50 + D = .1(1,850 + D)
50 + D = 185 + .1D
D - .1D = 185 - 50
.9D = 135
D, or additional amount of dextrose = , or , or mL
