How many ounces of a 15% alcohol solution and a 26% alcohol solution must be combined to obtain 33 ounces of a 19% solution?
***
let x=amt of 15% alcohol to be used
33-x=amt of 26% alcohol to be used
..
15%x+26%(33-x)=19%*33
.15x+8.58-.26x=6.27
.11x=2.31
x=21
33-x=12
..
amt of 15% alcohol to be used=21 ounces
amt of 26% alcohol to be used=12 ounces
