Question 863695: I have a 275 gallon container of 12% hydrofluoric acid. I need to know how many pounds of hydrofluoric acid are in the container. I have no clue how to calculate this.
Answer by josgarithmetic(39618)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
One would assume the acid percent is expressed in weight per weight.

Look-up the specific gravity for 12% hydrofluoric acid, and convert to pounds per gallon;
Convert 275 gallons into pounds using the pound per gallon density;
Multiply this poundage by 0.12;
AND that is the pounds of pure hydrofluoric acid.

The exact data and computations can be your task to find and do.
