Total people favored recycling program was 58% = 400 *58/100 = 232
and the remaining are 400-232 = 168
Given that 50% of men and 70% of woman favored the poll
50/100men + 70/100 women = 232
5m + 7w = 2320 -----1

then the remaining are 50% of men and 30% of woman who did not favor the poll
50/100men + 30/100 women = 168
5m+ 3 w = 1680 ----2

Solving equation 1 and 2 we have

5m+7w= 2320
5m+3w= 1680

4w= 640
W = 160
Therefore there are 160 women were polled
