It only have 80percent alcohol need 1000 ml of 50percent alcohol.

:
let a = amt distilled water to be add to accomplish this
.80(1000) = .50(a+1000)
800 = .5a + 500
800 - 500 = .5a
300 = .5a
a = 300/.5
a = 600 ml of distilled water to be added
