Question 823042: a radiator contains 6 liters of a 33% antifreeze solution. how much water should be drained and replaced with pure antifreeze to produce a 45% antifreeze solution?
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+y=6,
.33x+y=.45*(6)
x=4.92537, y=1.07463
keep x and replace y
How are you going to drain just water? You can drain some of the 33% mixture but not just water. Another poorly worded problem.
