to produce a 40gal of 27% disinfectant solution
Question states***
.30x + .20(40-x) = .27*40gal ***
30x + 20(40-x) = 27*40gal |after multiplying thru by 100
10x = 280gal
x = 28 gal
CHECKING our answer***
8.4gal + 2.4gal = 10.8 gal (amount of disinfectant)
