Question 808442: Old chevy uses premium gas. accidently topped off with 5 gallos of regular gas. Tank holds 16 galls. Car gets 17 miles pergallon. How many miles will I have to drive care so that when I fill up the gantke with premium, the mixzture is 95% or greater?
I figured out percentages of regular to premium in 16 gal tank 32% and 69%. I can figure out the miles per gal. by dividing by 17 Mile/gal once I know how many gallons I need. Problem is when I mizx 100% premium with 69% premium. I don't know how to set it up.

The 16 gallons of regular is thought to be as 0% premium. You may start this through "algebra". v = how much to remove and replace with premium to get 95% premium:

The old chevy must consume 15.2 gallons of the regular gasoline and replace it with the premium gasoline to obtain the mixtures of 95% premium... but how many MILES correspond to this 15.2 miles?

Use the fuel efficiency datum.
