Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x+3(x-2)=78
4x+3x-6=78
7x-6=78
7x=84
x = 12
4*12=48 miles first 4 hr
3*10=30 miles last 3 hours
