Alloy I 90 ---------------- 300 ounces
Alloy II 40 ---------------- x ounces
Mixture 50 ---------------- 300 + x ounces
90 * 300 + 40 x = 50 ( 300 + x )
27000 + 40 x = 15000 + 50 x
40 x -50 x = -27000 + 15000
-10 x = -12000
/ -10
x = 1200 ounces Alloy II
