How much thinner must be mixed with 8 gallons of paint to get a mixture that is 80% paint?
----------
Equation:
paint + paint = paint
1*8 + 0*x = 0.8(8+x)
-----
Multiply thru by 10 to get:::
80 + 0 = 8*8 +8x
8x = 16
x = 2 gallons (amt of thinner needed)
