to make 40 ml of 35 percent acid?
:
let x = amt of 20% mixture
then
(40-x) = amt of pure acid
:
.20x + (40-x) = .35(40)
.20x + 40 - x = 14
-.8x = 14 - 40
-.8x = -26
x =
x = +32.5 ml of 20% stuff
