Question 736164:
want to make 12 liters of a 40% hydrogen peroxide solution consisting of a combo of 70% hydrogen peroxide solution and a 30% hydrogen peroxide solution. How many liters of each solution must be combined to make a 40% solution?

Answer by checkley79(3341)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.70X+.30(12-X)=.40*12
.70X+3.6-.30X=4.8
.40X=4.8-3.6
.40X=1.2
X=1.2/.40
X=3 LITERS OF 70% SOLUTION IS USED.
12-3=9 LITERS OF 30% SOLUTION IS USED.
PROOF:
.70*3+.30*9=.40*12
2.1+2.7=4.8
4.8=4.8
