A chemist mixes an 11% acid solution with a 4 % acid solution . How many milliters of each solution should the use to make a 700ml solution that is 6% acid ?
***
let x=amt of 11% solution to mix
700-x=amt of 4% solution to mix
..
11%x+4%(700-x)=6%*700
.11x+28-.04x=42
.07x=14
x=200
700-x=500
amt of 11% solution to mix=200 ml
amt of 4% solution to mix=500 ml
