Question 707743: how many gallons of a 90% antifreeze solution must be mixed with 60 gallons of 30% antifreeze to get a mixture that is 80% antifreeze
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
how many gallons of a 90% antifreeze solution must be mixed with 60 gallons of 30% antifreeze to get a mixture that is 80% antifreeze
-------
Equation:
anti + anti = anti
0.30*60 + 0.90x = 0.80(60+x)
------
30*60 + 90x = 80*60 + 80x
10x = 50*60
x = 300 gallons (amt. of 90% solution needed)
