How many pounds of green tea, worth $40 a pound, should be mixed with herbal tea, worth $50 a pound, to produce 60 pounds of a blend worth $42 a pound?

Using 2 equations:
Quantity: g + h = 60 lbs
Value:::40g +50h = 42*60 dollars
------------------------------------
Multiply thru the Quantity Eq. by 40:
40g + 40h = 40*60
40g + 50h = 42*60
-----
Subtract and solve for "h":
10h = 2*60
h = 12 (lbs of herbal tea)

Solve for "g":
g + h = 60
g + 12 = 60
g = 48 (lbs of green tea)
