Question 662341: When testing one’s blood glucose level, they must prick their finger with a lancet to acquire a drop of blood. New glucometers require less blood than older models, allowing other areas of the body to be used instead of the fingers. What are these sights and how have these alternate sights made customers more comfortable and compliant with testing their blood?
Answer by KMST(5328) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This does not sound like algebra to me.
As far as I know, thigh, forearm, and heel of the thumb have been used to draw blood for home glucose monitoring. Glucometers that advertise needing very little blood and come with a special lancet cover to test at alternate sites have existed in the USA for at least 10 years. Pricking the alternate sites is less painful than pricking the firgertips.
