50 is an even number, so if he is paid an odd number of dollars per hour, then he must have worked an even number of hours (because an odd number times an odd number is an odd number. If he worked 2 hours @ $25 per hour, that would work, but if he worked 4 hours, then he would be getting paid 12.50, so anything greater than 2 hours doesn't work. 2 hours.
