Answer by dfrazzetto(283)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
peanuts = x (lbs)
almonds = y (lbs)
x+y = 53
3x + 4y = 155
Using substitution
x = 53 - y
3(53-y) + 4y = 155
159 -3y + 4y = 155
y = 155 - 159 = -4???
57 lbs of peanuts and -4 lbs of almonds??
question is flawed
