the resulting amt is to be 36 oz, therefore
(36-x) = amt of water required
:
Write an amt of salt equation, the amt of salt remains the same only the percent changes
:
.12x = .08(36)
.12x = 2.88
x =
x = 24 oz of 12% solution
then
36 - 24 = 12 oz of water
