you have a mixture of 1 oz. of 35% hydrogen peroxide, how much pure water would you add to make a mixture of 17% hydrogen peroxide?
:
let x = amt of water to produce a 17% mixture
:
amt of hydrogen peroxide remains the same; only the mixture amt changes
:
.35(1) = .17(x+1)
.35 = .17x + .17
.35 - .17 = .17x
.18 = .17x
x = .18/.17
x = 1.06 oz of water to be added
